This kitchen is a perfect example of the transformative power of combining interior design, structural design, lighting, colour, and traditional hand painting techniques.
The brief was to retain the original bespoke oak cabinetry while upgrading the dowdy space into a stylish, functional, and timeless living area for the whole family to enjoy.
Key updates included introducing a tray ceiling, adding classical architectural depth and airiness to the room. The splashback and worktops were replaced, with the island worktop extended to create a sociable dining space. The heavy oak cabinetry was expertly hand-painted in a light off-white specialist kitchen paint, giving it a fresh and elegant appearance.
Importantly, the cabinetry and flooring were retained in their entirety, demonstrating that effective design doesn’t always require costly overhauls.
By working closely with the client to develop their personal style, I ensured the design stayed true to the brief and within budget, resulting in a beautifully transformed kitchen that is both timeless and functional.
